🔗 Old PHP blogging
I’ve dipped my toe into blogging in PHP over the past year. It still feels magical — and I’m continuing to find new/old ways of making simple and effective PHP websites. Serendipity is a recent one.

My 18 y/o says that almost every guy at his school is into sports betting. I remember the NFL fantasy leagues of the 2010's — and it was a gateway drug to today's situation. Mainstream gambling is putting the mob out of business, and it's cheapening the souls of a generation. And pro athletes shouldn't be subject to threats from gambling addicts - at least not to any larger extent than they have been for a century or more.
Devastating turn of events for the tournament.
I also love the em dash. It’s been a part of my personal style for decades—I don’t know where I picked up the habit—maybe Joyce? Dickinson? I believe em dashes can stand in for any other mark. I used to know the unicode shortcut to correctly render an em dash, and I also knew the difference between an “en” and an “em.”
I don’t know why people buy the nonsense on this issue. But the true prevalence of non-citizens voting has been looked into by many states. It just doesn’t happen very often at all. Certainly not to the extent “they’re” trying to sell.
I've chosen List view as my go-to Finder view in recent months. It is a good fit for how I like to navigate folders, being able to keep several within view, but drop in and out of the contents of each, without changing the overall directory level. I was formerly a Column view person, navigating via the arrow keys, but I've found that using multiple Finder windows spatially, a window per List view folder, works even better, and allows me to better keep my bearings.
